Bilingual Support: Our Redwood City Team has a great deal of linguistic diversity; approximately half of our Team Members are Spanish speakers, and several speak no English. We need volunteers who are fluent in both Spanish and English to be translators at weekly meetings and Team events in order to foster closer and easier relationships between Team Members and our English-speaking DST Staff.
Community Workshops: Do you have a skill or passion you would be willing to share with our Team? Sign up to teach an hour-long workshop! You can volunteer just once, or choose to teach an ongoing workshop. It can be anything from a skill like coding or Spanish, to an activity you love like yoga or photography. Workshops are a fun way for you to get to know our Team Members while helping them fill their days with productive and engaging activities.
Hygiene kits: When we’re doing outreach to find new potential Team Members, it helps to have travel sized hygiene kits – which include necessities like socks, toiletries, and hand sanitizer – to give out. You can collect and assemble the materials necessary for these kits on your own or with a group, and coordinate with us on dropping them off.
Design your own: None of these opportunities fit your interests? Contact us anyway! We would love to help find a place for you at DST based on your unique interests and skill-sets.
If you are interested in any of the above opportunities, or if you would like more information, email Sarah@streetsteam.org to get started working with our Team!
